For the English-based version, the exam questions range from 100 to 150 and are supposed to be answered in 3 hours. The questions are asked in two main formats — advanced innovative items and multiple choice. The maximum points an individual can earn stands at 1000 with the passing mark of 700 points.

Other languages in which you can take the COMPTIA SECURITY+ exam include Korean, German, French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. In this case, you will have to deal with a total of 250 questions that should be answered within 6 hours. The candidates can get the same amount of points.
